I am sure all the parents out there are THRILLED when they get a phone call from their childs teacher. I know I am. Not.
Today I got a call from Anastasia’s teacher. So obviously I knew I it wasn’t because whe was SOooo good that the teacher just had to call me. ;)

My daughter is almost 11. I have raised her by myself since she was just turning 4. Lots of people have helped me through the years, whether it was support, sanity, or simply an ear to listen.
I would love to say Anastasia’s mother was involved and there was shared custody, there wasn’t/isn’t though. I would love to say I had a steady babysitter to watch Anastasia through the years, I didn’t though.

I know most kids are not going to put everything away where they find it. I know most kides will leave things out and forget where they put stuff.
My daughter on the other hand is the BEST at hiding her mess until it gets so bad she has no place left to hide it and then it starts making her room look cluttered.
I walked into her room yesterday and realized she had EVERY hiding space stocked FULL of stuff. I knew what she would be doing when she got home.
So last night she straightened her room. It took a few hours although she got it done and now she is much happier in a straightened room. :)
So I spent the weekened in Texas with my friend I have talked about in other posts. She is my friend and my love.
Anastasia stayed with my sister in Arizona. FREE! Right? For one weekend I would have no responsibilities and be free from parenting. Not exactly.
By the time I reached the airport in Phoenix I was already missing my little girl. I was definitely excited about the weekend ahead although missing my little one.
Anastasia agreed to keep her cell phone close so to her so we could keep in touch through text messaging and calling.
Saturday morning her phone was dead, well or turned off. I tried to call her and it went straight to voice mail. I waited about an hour then called again. Then later on in the day I called my sister because Anastasia still had not texted or called me back.
Turns out Anastasia’s phone was dead and she couldn’t find her charger. So instead of telling someone she let her phone die. I told her she needed to find her charger. So my sister and her looked and she found it.
Funny how as a child so many things are so important. Anastasia had the trust that my sister would have her phone and I would be able to reach her and get to Anastasia at any time.
I’m sure her mind didn’t think that all the way through, although the trust of her Aunt was there, so she didn’t need to worry about her phone.
I was up late last night. I was watching the Speed Racer movie.
(What? No seriously, I only watch it once a day, promise.)
It was about 12:30am when I got a text message. Weird I thought. I picked up my phone and it was Anastasia texting me from her room! In this text message she asked if she could come down and get something to drink because she had a sore throat. I wrote back, “OF COURSE!”
I gave her some water, got her some medicine and walked her back upstairs to her room and tucked her back into bed.
I told her she didn’t need to text me, she could just come down and get me, no matter what is going on. She said she didn’t want to get in trouble, I told her she would never get into trouble over waking me up or coming down to ask me something at ANY time.
She seemed to feel a little better this morning, although her throat was still hurting.
