This morning Anastasia was ready a little early. We were sitting on the couch waiting for the time we needed to leave and catch the school bus.
As we were sitting there Anastasia told me about the other day when she wore the jeans she had on and how she got this nice hole on here right knee. I looked at the hole as she told me the story and I realized the story she is telling me does not match the hole.
She told me she fell the other day and slid on the ground and she ripped her jeans. The hole she has is round and frayed. Like a hole would look a few days after you used scissors to make the initial hole.
This was definitely NOT a hole from sliding. At least not the entire hole I was looking at. After me quizzing her a little she told me how the jeans were scuffed or were thinned out and then she used her fingers to open the hole.
Now that sounds like my little girl! We talked a little more about it and she told me she was worried about her Grandmother getting mad because she hemmed them and adjusted the jeans to fit her properly. I told her to not worry about Grandma. She would not get mad at her. :)
A simple lie because Anastasia figured she would get in trouble for making a rip in her pants. I told her not to worry, we have ALL done it.
This weekend we decided to take a trip to the Grand Canyon. My sister, her husband, her best friend and me. We originally planned on just going to Flagstaff, Arizona, although once we got there we realized we were only about an hour away.
Anastasia was over at my parents house and was going to spend the night, so why not…..
We got to the Grand Canyon around 3:30 in the afternoon. We stayed for about an hour or so then drove back. Not much to say other than if you have never stopped at the Grand Canyon, it should be in your top ten list of things to do!
It was spectacular. And we only went to two different areas to look at it on the south rim.
Here are the pictures:

This year was a smaller Christmas with the economy being the way it is, mainly MY economy being the way it is.
I have uploaded most of the pictures I took for some of the presents Anastasia got from my sister and her husband, Santa Claus and me. And her mother sent her a Guitar for Christmas. (This is the first year in 6 years that Anastasia’s mother has been in contact.)
More pictures after the jump:

I have spent the past few days reflecting on what I have been doing, how I have been discipling and how I have been spending each moment.
I decided yesterday Anastasia didn’t need to be grounded any more. Now, don’t get me wrong, she had her grounding easy, I was always coming up with chores (easy) and projects for her to complete. I just started thinking, she is WAY smart, she knows what she is doing and I just need to be on toes to watch her doing it.
So, we had a good night, today has been great so far. I love my little girl, always have, always will, just sometimes are more appreciated. :)

- This would be a picture of the infamous now working modem. (stock image, not ours)
Today Anastasia and I wen over my parents house. My mother is still working so just my father was home. He was having a rough day, his cable modem went out and once I got there we troubleshot it and figured out his router went bad and it wasn’t his modem after all. We spent about 4 hours between me running home to get my spare cable modem and then again for my spare router.
During this time Anastasia was doing her typical math work she has been doing everyday. She does not know her multiplication tables like the back of her hand yet and she should. So I have her writing them daily and hopefully by the time winter break is over she will know them. Plus she is grounded for lying to me theĀ last week of school.
I was shooting pictures for my other website (whatitsworthnow.com) and decided to take some video of this merry go round. My father was bringing in a ladder and needed Anastasia to move. She decided she needed to go all the way across the room so she could be in the background of the video I was shooting.
Not cool. Especially when I am doing this for a site that has nothing to do with her. And she knows better. This is not the first time I have shot video of something and she decides to get herself into it any way she can.
I had her write a paper about why she shouldn’t have done it and she lied in that too. She wrote about how she was trying to see grandpa’s computer screen. For the record, the whole time I was videoing she was staring at me and the camera and grandpa’s computer screen was behind her.
I am VERY frustrated with this right now….
