A Single Daddy’s Blog

Single Parenting from a Father’s Perspective.

Tonight I got a phone call from one of Anastasia’s friends. She asked me if Anastasia had talked to me about sleeping over her house. She didn’t so I told her friend no.  So, of course she asks, “Can she sleep over then?” I told her I needed to talk to Anastasia about it.

I got off the phone and asked Anastasia when her and her friend talked about this one.  She told me on Friday at school.  I asked when she thought would be a good time to tell me?  Considering I found out from her friend calling me.

I hate last minute decisions.  I told Anastasia no.  I didn’t want to make a last minute decision and then have to rush and get her ready.  2 minutes later Anastasia’s friend’s mother calls me.  She explains that she was fine with her sleeping over and that they were looking forward to it. Now I need to make a last minute decision.  Ugh.

I told her friend’s mother she could spend the night. I told Anastasia to go get her clothes and get ready to go.  I explained to Anastasia how much nicer it would have been to have had advance notice on this one.

Her friend’s parents came and picked her up and then they were off with my little girl. I am happy she has friends to spend the night with and have a social life.  Although I really miss her when she’s gone. :(
