A Single Daddy’s Blog

Single Parenting from a Father’s Perspective.

Anastasia went to bed early, she got up late, I know she will have a great day!  Right?  Right?

WRONG.

Today Anastasia calls me from her school to let me know she got in trouble and she will be bringing home a paper for me to sign.  This can’t be good.

When she gets home I want to hear the scoop.  She tells me everyone got in trouble and that she got in trouble with everyone else.  I am thinking, “That makes sense.  I raised a perfect little angel that is not capable of getting into trouble be her self.  Surely there was someone else.”  ;)

I asked her if anyone else got a note home.  “No.” she replies.  Ok, so if no one else got a note home, what really happened?!?

Once she realized her little lies were not flying, the tears started followed by the truth.  Seems my little girl likes to constantly get out of her chair and talk to everyone.  On top of that she was rude to the teacher because she got mad.  Here’s the best part.  She got mad because the teacher was writing a letter home because she was bad.  So, now the teacher added showing disrespect to adults to the list of things she did wrong today.

She’s ten.  I am still dealing with the same issues I dealt with when she was 6.  Arghh.

So she is grounded today and I made her write an apology letter to the teacher.  We will see how that turns out.
