A Single Daddy’s Blog

Single Parenting from a Father’s Perspective.

I am sure all the parents out there are THRILLED when they get a phone call from their childs teacher. I know I am. Not.

Today I got a call from Anastasia’s teacher. So obviously I knew I it wasn’t because whe was SOooo good that the teacher just had to call me. ;)

Turns out Anastasia’s teacher filled me on on the entire week of fun that Anastasia and her were having. Her teacher told me how Anastasia was talking excessively, not getting along with others and generally acting bad in class.

I knew exactly what was going on. It’s funny, ok, not really funny, how the actions I as a parent take completely affect my daughter.

This past weekend I went to Texas and decided I was going to move there sometime early next year. I haven’t really told Anastasia, although she is a very smart girl and has put the peices together.

She decided this week she would not care about her friends, school, teacher and just act out because she knew she was leaving. I get that although I need to stop it.

Her and I had a long talk tonight about it all, and hopefully she will turn all this around. She is a great kid and EXTREMELY smart, so I know she can.

So, Anastasia and I agreed to take one day at a time instead of worrying about the future. Hopefully the school issues get better.
